Lana Trolls Husband Rusev On Twitter After WWE Release

Lana isn’t letting a lay-off interfere with her kayfabe.

The ravishing Russian stayed in character despite the announcement of real-life husband Rusev’s lay-off from WWE. In a post on Twitter, Lana (nee C.J. Perry) trolled her “ex-husband” with a vintage clip of the Bulgarian Brute berating her.

All’s Fair in Lana And Rusev

Lana and Rusev’s on-screen romance came to an end earlier this year, with the couple separating due to Rusev’s “sex addiction.” She then started a relationship and ultimately married Bobby Lashley inside the ring, with Liv Morgan spoiling the party. Their epic story also appears to be headed towards an end after Lashley blamed his new wife for his recent loss on Monday Night Raw.

However, C.J. Perry and Rusev are still very much married in real-life.

WWE released Rusev and 19 other superstars on Wednesday as a cost-saving measure due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additional lay-offs include Kurt Angle, Rusev (Miroslav Barnyashev), Drake Maverick (James Curtin), Zack Ryder (Matthew Cardona), Curt Hawkins (Brian Myers), Karl Anderson (Chad Allegra), Luke Gallows (Drew Hankinson), Heath Slater (Heath Miller), Eric Young (Jeremy Fritz), Rowan (Joseph Ruud), Sarah Logan (Sarah Rowe), No Way Jose (Levis Valenzuela), Mike Chioda, Mike Kanellis (Mike Bennett), Maria Kanellis, EC3 (Michael Hutter), Aiden English (Matthew Rehwoldt), Lio Rush (Lionel Green), Primo (Edwin Colon) and Epico (Orlando Colon Nieves).
