Doom Patrol

Doom Patrol HBO Max

Originally a DC Universe original series and spin-off of Titans, Doom Patrol has since evolved past both of those attributes. The series is an adaptation of the DC comic of the same name, and it’s been shockingly well received by it’s small, but dedicated fan base.

The series is extravagant, eccentric, and entirely unashamed of it’s zany roots. Cyborg (Jovian Wade), Robotman (Brendan Fraser) and Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), are just a few of the wonderful characters that populate Doom Patrol’s earth-27. Season 2 is coming to HBO Max starting June 25th, 2020.

The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air HBO Max

Will Smith is easily one of the most prolific actors of our generation, and starting May 27th, you can binge the series that started it all, only on HBO Max. Now, this is a story all about how…well, you get the idea.

Will Smith stars as a fictionalized version of himself, who moves to Bel Air to live with his boujee extended family, The Banks. It’s one of the greatest uses of the fish out of water trope, and the comedy is top notch, as is to be expected from Big Willie. Don’t miss out on one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, available at launch on HBOMax.

Rick And Morty

Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s animated sitcom has taken the world by storm, setting viewership records for Adult Swim. Justin Roiland voices both Rick, an unparalleled genius capable of doing anything and traveling the infinite multiverse, and Morty, his lovable yet awkward pubescent grandson.

There adventures take them on some truly unforgettable adventures that parody classics like Alien, Oceans Eleven, Nightmare On Elm Street, and countless others while still telling original, character driven stories. Rick and Morty is special because while it’s not above a good fart joke, it also features some truly heart wrenching and bitterly depressing scenes that will leave you feeling as cold and dead as the empty vacuum of space.

Watchmen

Damon Lindelof created something truly magical with this nine episode sequel series to Alan Moore’s beloved graphic novel of the same name. This series understood the legacy of the original cast of characters and added to the comic in a way that no other Watchmen addition has, or likely ever will.

If you haven’t read Watchmen, you need to. It’s one of the most important pieces of modern fiction and one of the most spellbinding comics of all time. Knowledge of the graphic novel is a prerequisite for watching Lindelof’s masterpiece, but don’t let that turn you away. Watchmen is the best superhero TV series on the market in my opinion, and it deserves to be experienced completely.
