Fear Street Part Three: 1666

Fear Street Part Three: 1666 is Netflix’s original supernatural horror mystery film directed by Leigh Janiak (Panic, Honeymoon), and co-written by Phil Graziadei, Janiak, and Kate Trefry. Trefry didn’t work on the script for the previous two films. Based on the book series of the same name by legendary R. L. Stine. We usually see anthology TV series but for the first time, we are getting a weekly anthology film trilogy.

This R-rated film is scheduled to be released by Netflix as the third installment in the Fear Street Trilogy. Part One: 1994 and Part Two: 1978 will be released in the preceding weeks before this film’s release. Even though these three films take place in different periods they are all connected.

Synopsis: Set in 1666, a colony is gripped by a hysterical witch-hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come. Meanwhile, the teenagers in 1994 and 1978 try to finally put an end to the town’s curse, before it is too late. So most of the stars from Part One will be appearing along with the stars of Part Two in this finale. Also, some of the cast will be playing different roles along with their previous role, so they will be playing two characters in this story.

Kiana Madeira (Trinkets), Sadie Sink (Stranger Things, Eli), Olivia Scott Welch (Panic, Shithouse), Emily Rudd (Dynasty, The Romanoffs), McCabe Slye (Destroyer), Benjamin Flores Jr. (Your Honor), Elizabeth Scopel (Chicago Med), Fred Hechinger (The Woman in the Window), Jordana Spiro (Ozark), Jordyn DiNatale (The Irishman), and Gillian Jacobs (Community, Invincible) are the only ones to appear in all three films.

From Part One-Ashley Zukerman (Succession), Darrell Britt-Gibson (Barry), Julia Rehwald, Charlene Amoia (The Conjuring 3), Jeremy Ford (The Mosquito Coast) are reprising their roles in this. From Part Two-Ryan Simpkins (A Single Man, Revolutionary Road), Ted Sutherland (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) are reprising their roles in this. New additions to the cast are Mark Ashworth (Stargirl) and Randy Havens (Stranger Things).

So watching the two films before this is a necessity for understanding this film. The most interesting thing here is, as the story progresses from one part to the next we are going back in time and unraveling the mystery piece by piece. They all breed together and become one big story. The concept of this trilogy seems like a classic slasher flick with supernatural elements that any horror fan would appreciate. This anthology film event is not to be missed, especially the fans of the horror genre.
