CM Punk shares an Instagram Story which may hint at a return to the squared circle.

On Monday the Aug. 16 Punk shared an Instagram Story which was just a black screen with three numbers: “05, 11 and 21.”  The internet is frantically searching for the meaning of these three numbers and they have one possible meaning as Punk never clarified what these numbers are.

A Pretty Solid CM Punk Theory

They believe these numbers are related to when CM Punk has signed major wrestling contracts.  In 2005 Punk signed a developmental contract with WWE so that’s the 05.  The 11 is a reference to 2011 when he signed a must-talked-about contract with WWE.  However, the 21 isn’t as clear.  If the other two numbers are years then 21 is 2021. If they signify wrestling contracts then it would seem he signed with either AEW or WWE most likely.

An Alternate Theory Behind The Numbers

These years could also signify major moments in his life and not mean he is returning to the ring.  In 2005 he signed with WWE.  However, the 11 could be the “Pipe Bomb” promo which is regarded as one of the best promos of all time and he became famous for which happened in 2011.  The 21 could be the fact that in 2021 he fully committed to acting and sees himself acting from now one.  When he was recently asked about returning to the ring he said he is focusing on giving acting his all.

Two AEW Events In Chicago Seem Like A Pretty Good Place To Debut

However, if the internet is right and it signifies him signing a wrestling contract then it would make sense it is with AEW.  They already have the dates worked out for when he will return.

The speculation is CM Punk will make his AEW debut appearance in his hometown of Chicago for Friday’s “The First Dance” edition of AEW Rampage.  From there it is rumored that he will make his in-ring return at the AEW All Out PPV on Sept. 5 which is in a suburb of Chicago.  No doubt these two dates are given because they are in his hometown.

This is exciting and I’m excited to see if he appears at either of these two dates and these numbers could match up to his contracts or they could mean nothing at all.  Punk is a troll and he knows that everyone is hoping and praying that he signs with AEW and he is just playing a joke on all of us.  I hope they mean something even if it isn’t wrestling related because I don’t want it to just be a troll and I hope he reveals what they mean.

What do you think these numbers mean?  Do you think they mean he is signing with AEW?  Do you think they could mean one last run in WWE?  Don’t be a troll like Punk so make sure you leave a comment below.
