The House of the Dragon will soon be upon us.

HBO‘s long-awaited sequel to their hit fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, is on its way to our screens. On Sunday, August 21, 2022, House of the Dragon will premiere. The series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on the story of the once-great House Targaryen, before the fall and usurpation of the Baratheons. House Targaryen, for those who do not know, is the house of dragons, the mightiest beasts of the world. With a lineage that bonds them to these mystical beasts, their nearly 300-year rule went unopposed as no force could match that of the dragons. But as Game of Thrones thought us, there are many ways to take the throne.

It also showcases the deceit, deception, and drama that made George R. R. Martin’s series a worldwide phenomenon. In a world where dragons are real, the depraved depths of human nature and desire are what truly drive the show. House of the Dragon, much like its predecessor has numerous characters to know. While you can wait for the premiere, it might be easier to get to know a bit about them ahead of time. Check out their character posters and descriptions below.
