The House of the Dragon will soon be upon us.

HBO‘s long-awaited sequel to their hit fantasy drama, Game of Thrones, is on its way to our screens. On Sunday, August 21, 2022, House of the Dragon will premiere. The series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on the story of the once-great House Targaryen, before the fall and usurpation of the Baratheons. House Targaryen, for those who do not know, is the house of dragons, the mightiest beasts of the world. With a lineage that bonds them to these mystical beasts, their nearly 300-year rule went unopposed as no force could match that of the dragons. But as Game of Thrones thought us, there are many ways to take the throne.

The House of the Dragon trailer reintroduces the famed houses of the Game of Thrones lore as well as highlights the constant presence of dragons. It also showcases the deceit, deception, and drama that made George R. R. Martin’s series a worldwide phenomenon. In a world where dragons are real, the depraved depths of human nature and desire are what truly drive the show. House of the Dragon, much like its predecessor has numerous characters to know. House of the Dragon looks to be the Game of Thrones spin-off fans have wanted since the final season of Game of Thrones. With a stacked veteran cast, no binds to a pre-written story, and a budget that can include dragons regularly, House of the Dragon is set up to be the next epic HBO series. We’ll know for sure when the series premieres on Sunday, August 21, 2022, on HBO.
