After the recent cancellation of DC’s Batgirl, messages in support of the cast and crew have poured in from across the internet.

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, has now joined in on the chorus of consolation messages. Sending an email to Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, Feige expressed his support for them amidst this cancellation and congratulated them on the success of Ms. Marvel as well as Adil’s wedding.

Adil El Arbi first shared a still from the film on his Instagram story, showcasing an interaction between Leslie Grace’s Batgirl and Michael Keaton’s Batman in full costume. Then, on the very next story, he shared a screenshot of a very heartfelt email he and Bilall received from Kevin Feige.

Batgirl Directors Receive MCU Support

Read the kind message below, which comes after Warner Bros Discovery CEO announced that the reason for the cancellation of Batgirl was the film not being of the quality they wanted.

The email is in reply to a previous email sent by Bilall and Adil to Fiege, titled “Shokran” followed by a lightning sign. “Shokran” translates to thank you in Arabic, while the lightning sign is the logo for Ms.Marvel.

This means that Bilal and Adil may have previously mailed Fiege to thank him for the opportunity to produce and direct episodes of Ms.Marvel. Kevin Fiege has now replied to their email, congratulating Adil on his wedding, expressing his disappointment on the cancellation of Batgirl‘s release, and expressing interest in seeing the director duo soon.

A New Marvel Project on the Horizon?

The last part of this incredibly heartfelt message has left fans questioning if this may mean that Feige has taken this opportunity to sign the Batgirl directors on for another Marvel Studios project. Both are incredibly acclaimed directors and did an amazing job on Ms. Marvel. So there is a real possibility that Feige may have signed the two on. But what project could they helm?

Earlier in the year, THR reported that a Wonder Man project was in the works. Wonder Man is a Hollywood-based character who happens to be an actor. The series could be a great comedic take on Hollywood culture mixed with great action, which is something that Bilall and Adil are masters of, so it would make total sense that they would direct the series.

Especially with the latest hand they were played by new Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav, it would be the perfect opportunity to make a joke or two about corporate studio culture in Hollywood. Another great project the two could helm is Young Avengers. Having introduced Kate Bishop, America Chavez and Ms. Marvel in the past year, a Young Avengers team-up project seems inevitable. The duo have already worked on Ms. Marvel and could next move on to a team-up film with the character.

One other film that fans have been speculating they could work on is the recently announced end to The Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Secret Wars. This would be a great opportunity for the pair to move on to one of their biggest films ever and really flex their muscles to the limit. While the two have currently only helmed 2 episodes of Ms. Marvel, it is very possible that they will direct episodes of other Marvel Studios shows – not to mention other movies – before Kevin Feige awards them with the big Avengers title.
