Toei Animation to Launch an Official English Language One Piece YouTube Channel

Legendary anime studio Toei Animation is planning to soft launch a new global English-language YouTube channel. The channel will be home to English-speaking fans around the world and their source for official news, information, and special video content about One Piece. Fans can subscribe to the official English language YouTube channel starting in June.

The new YouTube channel soft launch is timed with the start of a week-long One Piece activation on the Exosphere, the exterior of Sphere in Las Vegas, which takes place June 10 – 16 for fans to enjoy. It will be the largest ever One Piece display – with the venue, the largest spherical structure in the world, measuring 366 ft (112 m) tall and 516 ft (157 m) wide.

The activation consists of a 90-second-long anime created especially for the Exosphere. The week-long One Piece residency includes a four-hour-long “takeover” on Tuesday, June 11 between 7:00 – 11:00 pm Pacific during which time the One Piece activation will be featured.

This is such a momentous announcement as fans will gain a significant source of content. Japanese fans are often treated to amazing news and announcements via livestream. However, the English-speaking world often isn’t granted such momentous events as often get subtitled content at most. This is a huge leap for anime fans and highlights just how impactful the fandom has become. With releases such as the live-action series on Netflix, a great adventure lies ahead for fans around the world.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
