TOKYO REVENGERS Confirmed for New Season! 

Tokyo Revengers Anime Will Continue with New Season. 

Hold tight Tokyo Revenger fans as our favorite gangster fighting, drama will return with a new season for the anime series. The news was dropped at the previous weekend’s fan event, announced while the fandom and creators were celebrating the fourth anniversary of the anime adaptation of Ken Wakui’s manga “Tokyo Revengers”. 


So far not much information surrounding the new project has been revealed yet… however a new key visual was shared with the fanbase depicting Takemichi Hanagaki looking rather distressed and injured, holding on to Mikey, who also appears to be injured. Tokyo Revengers will be produced by Linden Films who produced the previous three seasons. The first season aired in 2021 from Apr-Sep, the second season aired in 2023 from Jan-Apr and the third season also aired in 2023 in the fall/winter, Oct- Dec. A release date for the fourth season is still TBA. Linden Films has produced many other rememberable anime titles such as; Bastard Heavy Metal: Dark Fantasy, Call of the Night, Yamada-Kun and The Seven Witches, Boarding School Juliet and more. 

If you want to catch up on the previous seasons while waiting for season 4 you can find season 1 on Crunchyroll and find season 2 and 3 on DisneyPlus .On Disney Plus season 2 are episodes 1-13 and season 3 is episodes 14-26. It is speculated that the fourth season will be released on Disney plus. 

It’s no surprise that this anime series is getting another season with the amount of popularity and love from its fandom worldwide. The story of Takemichi Hanagaki and his friends has touched the hearts of fans, what makes this story even more unique is that the author behind Tokyo Revengers was originally in a gang himself. The knowledge and memories Ken Wakui’s past help influence the creative story. 

Tokyo Revengers is also expanding beyond its anime series with another new series titled Fairy Tale Revengers. The additional series Fairy Tale Revengers is a chibi gag series, that will cover Tokyo Revengers characters like Mikey, Draken and more… retelling their stories and memories. The first episode will cover a new version of the tale of Momotaro. Key visual for the gag series has also been released;

Tokyo Revengers follows the story of Takemichi Hanagaki, his friends and his love… Takemichi Hanagaki a 26-year-old freeter, is shocked when he sees one day on the news that his past love from his teen years, Hinata Tachibana and her younger brother Naoto, have both been killed by the notorious Tokyo Manji Gang. 

After Takemichi is pushed onto train tracks and is hit by an oncoming train, expecting death but not receiving it… instead Takemichi wakes up in his past when he was attending middle school. Now takemichi has the power to travel through time, with each time takemichi changes the past altering the future… but is it for the better or the worst? Can he save the only girl he’s ever loved, his friends and his self in the process? 

Hopefully with season four we will see Takemichi succeed at protecting what he loves. With even more great news the Japan Anniversary Association has officially recognized June 19 as the “Tokyo Revengers Day/Manji Gang Founding Anniversary.” Its official guy’s Tokyo Revengers has its own day of celebration! What a massive achievement for the creator Ken Wakui. 

It just seems that the success of Tokyo Revengers is never ending… starting as a manga published in Kodansha’s shonen magazine; Weekly Shonen Magazine, from Mar 1, 2017, to Nov 16, 2022. The 278 chapters where then collected into 31 tankobon volumes. The volumes were released from May 17, 2017, to Jan 17, 2023. Kodansha USA was licenced to release the English digital copy in 2018 and Seven Seas Entertainment was licenced to release the English print of the manga in 2022.

The manga’s growing success led to Tokyo Revengers becoming an anime series made by Liden Films and released in Apr 2021, so far, the anime has three successful seasons and is producing the fourth. Tokyo Revengers also received a live-action movie, the movie was released in 2021 and runs for 2hours. You can watch the live action movie with English Subtitles on Crunchyroll . With manga, anime, live-action and merchandise it’s the franchise that keeps on giving.
