TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy Anime Confirmed to Return for Season 3! 

TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy is receiving its third season for the anime series 

What great news TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy fans as season two concluded its final episode, episode 25 “Party Beneath the Moonlight” that aired in Japan Jun 24, 2024; the news of the series getting a third season was announced on the official social accounts and website for the anime. The announcement came with this official festive poster for the series depicted below:

So far, the only announcement for season 3 TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy is that there will be a season 3 in production for the series, as for cast, release date and more there has been no announcement as of yet. The announcement for season 3 was made on TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy’s X social media account, sharing the news after the final episode of season 2 finished airing in Japan.

As for the director for season 3 it is highly suspected that the season will be directed by Shinji Ishihira, who directed both the first and second season of the anime series. Shinji Ishihira has directed over 20 anime titles in his career including some you may know; Edens Zero, Talentless Nana, Sasaki and Miyano and Fairy Tale. Ishihira has also directed the new upcoming series of Fairy Tale, Fairy Tale: 100 Years Quest which begins airing this summer; on Jul 7, 2024. 

Production of the series is also under speculation by fans this is due to the first and second season of TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy being produced by two different studios. Season one of the anime series was produced by C2C who have produced other anime titles such as; Handyman Saitou in Another World, WorldEnd: What do you do at the end of the world? Are you busy? Will you save me?, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina and more.  

Whereas the production for the second season of TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy was handled by J.C STAFF, who have produced many popular anime series that anime fans love like; Maid Sama, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Toradora, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? And hundreds more. A big number of fans believe it will be J.C STAFF who will produce season 3 of TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy, but no official announcement on who will be producing the series has been released yet.

in 2012 TSUKIMICHI: Moonlit Fantasy started as a light novel written by Kei Azumi that began publishing on novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro, then it moved to AlphaPolis website in 2016. A manga adaptation with illustrations by Kotora Kino was serialized in 2015 on online via AlphaPolis manga website. The manga is still on going.

Synopsis
Makoto Misumi just your normal teenager boy suddenly gets transported to another world, summoned to become a hero. However, the Goddess of the world found him to be ugly and stripped him of his hero status, rejecting him and sending him to the ends of the world he was brought into. Along his new journey he meets many non-human races along the way including dragons, orcs, dwarfs and more. 

Abandoned by the very people who brought him into this new world will Makoto Misumi be able to survive and navigate his new life among the wasteland of a world he’s never been before?
