Wakanda Forever has never been more true.
It may be only a few hours until Star Wars Day, but that isn’t stopping Disney from dropping bombs with its other major franchise from Marvel Studios. The MCU is currently on hiatus for a few more weeks until Loki debuts on Disney+, and then fans are in for a seemingly endless run of content within Phase 4.

Thanks to the “Marvel Studios Celebrates The Movies” video released early in the morning on YouTube, the stage is set for the next two years of MCU content to be something epic after closing the Infinity Saga in 2019. This video confirmed release dates for the third movies in the Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy franchises while also giving fans their first few seconds of footage from potential Oscar-winner Eternals.
MCU Declares Wakanda Forever
Both Black Widow and Shang Chi-and the Legend of the Ten Rings showed off a couple seconds of new footage as well, and the video closed by reminding the world that Marvel Studios is officially making a Fantastic Four movie.
Two of the at least five MCU movies in 2022 will be follow-ups to Phase 3 originals, both having received new titles thanks to this video. The Marvels will bring Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel into a super-powered with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, and Marvel also revealed the name of the second movie in the Black Panther saga.
Marvel Studios has officially revealed that Black Panther 2 will be titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and it is still set to release on July 8, 2022.
Ever since the moment leading man Chadwick Boseman passed, it was clear that this movie would have a difficult challenge ahead to continue his legacy as T’Challa. This title seems perfectly appropriate considering what Marvel Studios is planning to do with the sequel, which is planning to film this summer.
With the vast majority of the cast returning to their roles in Wakanda Forever, the shoot will be an emotional one as the team looks to expand on the world of Wakanda within the MCU. Plot details are still being kept very much under wraps, but fans are already looking forward to seeing more of the African nation as the movie pays tribute to the legacy of its protector.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut in theaters on July 8, 2022.
