Chloe Bennet has made waves by responding to criticism of her work on Agents of SHIELD. After an individual on Twitter described her performance as the fan-favorite character, Quake, via snarky critique, Bennet retweeted him with the following statement:
Chloe Bennet’s response has prompted fans to wonder if she’s hinting at a return to the MCU, but unfortunately, there’s no hard evidence to support that. Chloe Bennet herself has lobbied for the AOS cast to appear in the MCU somewhere, to take a more active part in the ever-ongoing story, but that wish hasn’t been granted just yet. The team’s lack of inclusion within the MCU is rather odd, especially given that Agents of SHIELD was Marvel’s first attempt to cross over its cinematic universe with the small screen.
Agents of SHIELD began in the MCU
The pilot features footage from The Avengers and sees the return of Phil Coulson, who was extremely dead around the midpoint of that film. Later episodes were heavily impacted by the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and yet still more made references to Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, and more. The show also did a lion’s share of legwork to introduce audiences to the Inhumans for a planned film that was later scrapped in favor of a television show.
However, now that Kevin Feige has spent the past couple of years quelling us to the idea of the MCU expanding across both films and television, it could be a perfect time to bring the SHIELD agents back into the fold and have them interact with other heroes on the big screen. AOS lead Phil Coulson was essentially the MCU liaison during Phase One, with him and SHIELD serving as a small piece of connective tissue between the otherwise standalone origin films for Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, and Captain America.
Coulson’s death in The Avengers is the event that brings the team together in the fight against the Chitauri, so I’m sure they’d be happy to know he’s still out there kicking butt and saving the world.
The Fans Would Love Chloe Bennets Return
If that’s not enough, the fan response to the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law was largely embraced after years of pining for the then Netflix Marvel heroes to appear in the films, so imagine how much applause there would be if the AOS team flew in to help fight Kang in a future Avengers movie, or if that’s too much to ask a post-credit scene.

The fact is that the MCU fandom has largely acclimated to binging television shows in order to get the full experience, so bringing in either Chloe Bennet’s Quake or the full SHIELD team would be a fist-in-the-air victory moment for those who ardently followed their adventures for 7 years. Plus, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness concluding Wanda Maximoff’s arc in WandaVision (for now at least) and Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania seemingly following up on a character first introduced in Loki, the universe has officially expanded farther than anyone could have imagined just a few short years ago.
Hopefully, we’ll see Quake and the other Agents alongside our other heroes someday, but that day is not today.
