HBO has announced the first set of names that will be part of the cast of The White Lotus Season 3, after confirming the return of Natasha Rothwell as Belinda from Season 1 last year. Mike White is back as writer and director of all the episodes. Filming on the new season is slated to kick off next month.
The names announced by the network are Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Tayme Thapthimthong. In addition, The InSneider.com reported a few hours before the announcement that Carrie Coon is in talks to star as well. She’s already on Casey Bloys’ phonebook after starring in The Leftovers and The Gilded Age. Also, Deadline reported that more actors are in talks, though wouldn’t confirm more names.
The White Lotus Season 2 is currently up for 23 Emmy nominations, following 10 wins in the first season out of 20 nominations in 13 categories.
THE WHITE LOTUS GOING TO ASIA FOR SEASON 3
Mike White confirmed last year that the third season will be going to Thailand, and will be centered on “death in Eastern religion and spirituality.” The network also announced they will be teaming up with the Tourism Authority of Thailand for the February shoot that will take place in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok.

White also told Entertainment Weekly a few months ago:
“It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus. It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing … I’m super excited about the content of the season.”
Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), said the following:
“We are honored to have Amazing Thailand featured as the filming location for the highly anticipated upcoming season of ‘The White Lotus.’ The kingdom’s exotic natural beauty, rich historical sites and diverse landscapes are the perfect settings to share our fascinating culture, fantastic cuisine, top-notch wellness and luxury offerings, and most importantly our people and Thai hospitality. Thailand has long been considered one of the world’s favorite filming locations. ‘The White Lotus’ project will certainly strengthen the kingdom’s status as a preferred filming destination and a beacon of experience-based tourism, inspiring even more visitors to Amazing Thailand.”
Janet Graham Borba, EVP of Production at HBO and Max added:
“We are pleased to partner with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to execute Mike’s creative vision and showcase all that the beautiful country of Thailand has to offer, as the next group of guests check in to the White Lotus.”
The series has been a critically acclaimed, award-winning hit for HBO. As mentioned earlier, the first season received 20 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and won 10, including the most wins of any program that year (2021). The second season received 23 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series.
