McFarlane Toys and AMC announced the inking of a new licensing agreement for The Walking Dead franchise. With the new agreement, McFarlane Toys will be bringing both physical and digital collectibles for the iconic zombie-themed franchise.

The announcement comes mere days after the recent debut of the new spinoff, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which marks the return of Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira as Michonne Grimes to the franchise. The new licensing agreement for toy and collectible company, McFarlane Toys, will span across the popular franchise.

The licensing agreement for The Walking Dead Universe includes the latest series, The Ones Who Live, which has new episodes airing Sundays on AMC and AMC+ The show continues the epic love story of the fan-favorite characters, Rick and Michonne.

Speaking on the news, McFarlane Toys Vice President of Licensing Cristy Collins stated, “The Walking Dead has captivated audiences on a global scale with its compelling storytelling and unforgettable characters. We are thrilled to rekindle our collaboration with the AMC team on this iconic franchise, to bring fans an extraordinary collection of high-quality collectibles.”

Meanwhile, AMC Head of Games and Franchises Clayton Neuman added, “As The Walking Dead Universe enters its epic second chapter, the timing couldn’t be better to expand our partnership with McFarlane Toys.” He continued, “Our fans are always hungry for more, and McFarlane’s unique, detailed figures inspired by our exciting new series will be a welcome addition to any collector’s shelf.”

It should be interesting to see what McFarlane comes up with, especially for upcoming digital products. The collectible company is already adding digital collectibles and integrating them into its DC Multiverse action figure line.

Another TV spinoff for the franchise, Daryl Dixon, continuing after the events of the end of the original series has been picked up for a second season. That means McFarlane Toys will be able to make collectibles for that show as well.
