Another hit Paramount+ series is going to air on CBS at a later date. Paramount+ announced this week that the hit series, Tulsa King, will make its broadcast television debut later this summer on the CBS Network. The hit series stars Sylvester Stallone and is created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan.

The show will debut on CBS ahead of its upcoming Season 2 launch later this fall on Paramount+. This is the latest example of Paramount Global’s strategy to bring Paramount+ originals to new audiences through its linear platforms. Star Trek

TULSA KING HITS PARAMOUNT+ THIS SUMMER

The show became one of the streamer’s most-watched series of all time, ranking only second behind Sheridan’s 1923. The series premiered in November 2022, coupled with NFL on CBS, also set a new record for subscriber growth at the time in a single day since Paramount+’s launch. It was also the most-watched series on the service while in-season. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

The series follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) after being released from prison after 25 years. He’s been unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up a new shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Seeing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight seeks to build up a “crew” of unlikely characters to establish a new criminal empire that to him might as well be another plant.

The first season also stars Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, Jay Whill, A.C. Peterson, and Garrett Hedlund. It was created by award-winning writer and Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, who also executive produces the show with Oscar nominee and Emmy winner Terence Winter. It’s also executive produced by Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood.

The show is part of Sheridan’s growing slate of Paramount+ original series, including 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, which is currently producing its third season, Special Ops: Lioness, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Landman, and 1923. 1923 will soon start its second season later this year.

Paramount Global will announce the CBS premiere day and times at a future date. The first season of Tulsa King is available to stream now on Paramount+.
