NEW EMOTIONS JOIN THE CREW IN INSIDE OUT 2

In the upcoming sequels, the returning emotions from the first film now have to face a new group of Emotions perfectly suited for a girl’s teenage years. Maya Hawke voices Anxiety, a bundle of frazzled energy that is going to shake up everything in headquarters and beyond. Anxiety seeks to ensure that Riley is prepared for every possible negative outcome.

INSIDE OUT 2
INSIDE OUT 2 – WHO’S IN CHARGE? — Disney and Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley, where her Emotions Anger (voice of Lewis Black), Fear (voice of Tony Hale), Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) and Disgust (voice of Liza Lapira) must make room for new Emotions, including Envy (voice of Ayo Edebiri), Anxiety (voice of Maya Hawke) and Embarrassment (voice of Paul Walter Hauser). Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, “Inside Out 2” releases only in theaters on June 14, 2024. © 2024 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

Also joining the cast is Emmy Award-winning actress Ayo Ediebiri as Envy. Envy is small, but she knows what she wants, and she’s perpetually jealous of everything that everyone else has and is not afraid to show it.

Adèle Exarchopoulos voices Ennui, who is generally bored and lazy. Ennui showcases the perfect amount of teenage apathy for Riley’s personality when she feels like it that is. Lastly, Embarrassment is voiced by Paul Walter Hauser, who likes to lay low despite his burly size and blush-pink complexion.

INSIDE OUT 2

Inside Out 2 looks to hopefully restore some of Disney and Pixar’s tarnished reputation at the box office this summer. Despite some stumbling blocks, Disney and Pixar’s Elemental ended up doing respectable business despite one of Pixar’s lowest opening weekends to date. Elemental ended up grossing $154 million domestically and $496 million worldwide.

It’s a bit sad to see that Bill Hader and Mindy Kaling are no longer voicing their respective characters of Fear and Disgust, but the new emotions look like a lot of fun, and this looks like a continuation in keeping with the themes and ideas of the first film. Inside Out 2 will be released exclusively in theaters on June 14.
