TOHO and OLM studios recently that Apothecary Diaries will receive a second season after completing Season 1 in March. The second season is due to arrive later next year, and a new teaser trailer was released.

Happy news for Apothecary Dairies fans as the new popular series on Crunchyroll has already announced that Season 2 will be hitting our screens sometime in 2025. Currently, an exact date has still not been confirmed, but an early teaser trailer is now available. You can check out the previously released trailer for the second season below:
APOTHECARY DIARIES SEASON 2 IS A GO
Only wrapping up with the last episode of its first season on March 23, the quick turnaround for Apothecary Diaries Season 2 being in production has left us all in excitement and anticipation. The series animated by Toho and OLM Studios is set to release the new series in the following Dubs for its West Coast fandom dubbed in English, German, Latin American Spanish, French, and Portuguese. After the first season covered chapters 1-38 out of the 61 chapters of the manga, there are high hopes that season 2 will cover the remaining 39-61 chapters for the viewers.
Since Apothecary Diaries aired the sales for the original manga have skyrocketed adding an additional 3 million copies into circulation within the first month of the show airing in Japan back in October 2023. Since then, Copies have been flying off the shelves, will you be grabbing your copy before it sells out?
The animation directed and scripted by Norihiro Naganuma is based on a manga written by Natsu Hyuga, and illustrated by Touko Shino. This story is based around the beautiful, intelligent and sometimes unreadable main character Maomao. Raised in the Red-Light district and under the wing of Apothecary Luomen, Maomao develops a love of poison and is uniquely skilled in medicine.
After being kidnapped from her home Maomao finds herself being sold as a slave, being forced to work in the royal palace. Excepting her new fate but unable to help herself Maomao’s talents of medicine and poison do not go unnoticed Earning her job promotions within the palace walls. Helping solve mysteries and medical issues and earning the trust and close friendship of the beautiful popular Eunuch Jinshi.
I think we can all see the tension and the building budding romance between our two favorite main characters of the show, well if our beloved Maomao lets her walls down more. Hopefully, Season 2 will answer that question if you haven’t already read the manga.
Apothecary Diaries has easily become one of my favorite anime on Crunchyroll, it’s easy to see why it is getting so much popularity and high scores from everyone including myself scoring this anime at a solid 9/10. The show’s mystery, romance, drama, and comedy are so well balanced throughout. The storyline is entertaining and leaves us questioning what is next to be revealed.
After learning the history of Maomao’s parents and finally getting a better glimpse into the real story of her past, I can’t help but love her character even more. She’s living proof that some hardships we face in life do not have to reflect how we are as people. Clearly, it’s her strong-minded personality that helped win the affections of Jinshi.
However, can a girl with a never-ending love of poison have enough room in her heart for our mysterious and sweet Jinshi? As Jinshi’s obsession continues to grow will Maomao allow herself to see the sparks of desire in his eyes or will we fans still be tormented by the tension between these two in the upcoming series?
