Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind brings back the franchise to the arcade, with a fantastic new Beat ‘Em Up title. Bringing back the hype and nostalgia, the new Power Rangers title brings back Robo Rita and classic episodic adventures. The arcade-style Action Game will also feature unexpected battle scenarios and even Zord-powered combat. As the timeline is threatened, the Mighty Morphin team kicks into action with multiplayer also included.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023 with a Netflix special, Once & Always. The Netflix special featured the iconic return of the cast from all three seasons, including David Yost and Walter Jones. The story featured the return of Rita Repulsa as her evil energy converts an Alpha into Robo Rita.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind Brings Back High-Action Brawling With Dynamic Nostalgia
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is an all-new adventure with an original storyline that both respects and remixes the franchise lore with scenarios and gameplay that will be familiar and new to MMPR fans. Players will brawl, blast, fight, and drive through a constantly shifting mix of classic game genres and fan-favorite moments from the series.
For the last 30 years, video games have been an essential part of the franchise. Today, acclaimed studio Digital Eclipse, in collaboration with Hasbro, a leading toy and game company, has revealed that they will release a new game that celebrates this rich and colorful history with retro-inspired action.
Online and offline co-op gameplay allows up to five simultaneous players to morph into their Power Ranger of choice and even pilot their powerful Zords. A high-energy synth soundtrack will keep their adrenaline pumping as they battle a host of familiar enemies but with some unexpected twists.
Digital Eclipse debuted the game at Summer Game Fest with an announcement trailer to kick off the game’s wishlist on Steam. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is currently in development and will be released on PC and console in late 2024. Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast SVP of Digital Strategy and Licensing, Eugene Evans, said on this week’s announcement:

Robo-Rita has conjured a portal to send herself back in time so she can finally vanquish the Power Rangers by forming an alliance with her younger self. Working together, Robo-Rita and Rita Repulsa rewind, rewrite and remix the past in an attempt to stop the very formation of the Rangers, altering the course of history.
Will the two Ritas and their army of monstrous enemies from across the MMPR timeline finally succeed in destroying the Rangers? Or will these teenagers with attitude learn to work together and counter this catastrophic chronological collaboration? Players will be able to experience the origins of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers again – for the first time! The past will never be the same…
The 90’s arcade aesthetic has been beautifully used to highlight the nostalgia of the franchise, with a fantastic 30th-anniversary integration. Although a pixel art game, it offers a great package compared to many recent releases and even offers multiplayer. It is wonderful how the game includes various challenges and themes, which is often seen in many titles of this type.
It’s brilliant that the developers have included both Zords and Megazords too, creating a better Ranger experience that fans can enjoy. It will be exciting to find out what the full game has in store and if more Rangers may debut in potential extended content.

Rita’s Rewind will be released in late 2024, with more announcements coming soon.
