MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: First Look at the Upcoming Final Issue

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 reveals the conclusion of an 8-year-long story, with intense preview pages. Boom! Studios has revealed that the upcoming one-shot will conclude both the Darkest Hour event and the comic series. The one-shot will act as the final release of the Mighty Morphin story that started in 2016 as Melissa Flores reveals the end to the epic arc.

Following the release of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #122, check out the first look at the epic clash between Dark Spector and the forces of good. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was revealed to conclude its series with the Darkest Hour finale. The 30th-anniversary event mixes in Rangers across time and space as Melissa Flores addresses the dark power of Dark Spector.

The story features merge the entire history of the comics as the Drakkon Rangers, Hyperforce Rangers, Solar Rangers, and Omega Rangers join the Mighty Morphin team and their Grid descendants. In the spirit of Shattered Grid, Rangers are now being corrupted by this powerful foe which will soon lead to an epic clash between heroes. 

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Reveals Preview for Momentous Finale 

BOOM! Studios, together with leading toy and game company Hasbro, today revealed a first look at the FINAL issue in the eight-year comic book saga… Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1. 

Fan favorite Rangers writer Melissa Flores (Spider-Gwen: Smash), acclaimed artist Simona Di Gianfelice (Firefly: Return to the Earth That Was), and acclaimed colorist Raúl Angulo, weave together a story that fans have been waiting nearly a decade for… delivering an unforgettable finale that everything has been building to! 

It all ends here! With the Morphin Grid in peril, the people of Earth are left without the Power Rangers to protect them. The ultimate battle against Dark Specter will play out with unexpected consequences, while an unlikely group of rogues, villains, and Rangers make strange company… But even if they win… can they rebuild everything they’ve lost? 

This epic, oversized issue will feature a main cover by the iconic Taurin Clarke (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), and variant covers by highly acclaimed artists Björn Barends (Spawn), Goñi Montes (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers), Santa Fung (House of Slaughter), Trevor Hairsine (DCeased) with Jordan Boyd, and a limited BOOM! Ahead of this milestone issue, fans can pick up the final issue of the main series, #122, a week earlier on July 24, 2024. Additionally, fans can look forward to many exciting POWER RANGERS announcements from BOOM! Studios in the coming months, including exciting plans for San Diego Comic-Con. 

Melissa Flores has treated fans to an omnipotent addition to the Power Rangers franchise, providing a massive event that is worthy of the 30^th anniversary. These previews have featured epic clashes between iconic characters in the story, including a great clash between Lord Zedd’s Zord and Master Vile’s ship. There is also the long-awaited Hyperforce clash between Chloe’s father and the Hyperforce Pink, with the return of the Pink Battle Warrior mode.  

It is fantastic to see a momentous start to the last instalment, especially since that collection of corrupted Rangers will burn into the minds of fans. The San Diego Comic-Con announcement is perfectly timed with the final release for the comic. Although fans have the new one-shot, Power Rangers Infinity #1, to look forward to, this upcoming reveal is highly anticipated. Especially since there are many directions that a new Power Rangers series could take, including launching with Zeo, another iconic series, or even going original full-time. 

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Darkest Hour #1 will be available in comic shops July 31, 2024. It is available for pre-order at your local comic shop. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including Kindle, iBooks, and Google Play.
