Universal Pictures released a wild new behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming sequel, Twisters, this week, showcasing the film’s rough and rowdy Tornado Wranglers. The Tornado Wranglers is a crew led by storm-chasing influencer Tyler Owens (Glen Powell) in the upcoming film.

TWISTERS FEATURETTE SHOWCASES THE TORNADO WRANGLERS
Described as a “current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster,” the upcoming film is directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung, the filmmaker behind Minari. The upcoming film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing), Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You), and Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts). This unlikely group of people with equal forces and opposing motivations come together in an attempt to predict and possibly tame the immense power of tornadoes.
Edgar-Jones stars in the film as Kate Carter, an ex-storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado while in college. She now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She’s lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi (Ramos) to test a new groundbreaking tracking system for storms.
After returning home, she crosses paths with the Tornado Wrangler, Tyler Owens (Powell). He’s a charming and wreckless social media influencer who thrives on posting his storm-chasing exploits with his rowdy crew online. The more dangerous the storm, the better. As storm season intensifies, they soon see terrifying phenomena never before unleashed. Kate, Tyler, Javi, and their crews find themselves in the path of multiple, deadly storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
The upcoming film also stars Brandon Perea, Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney, Sasha Lane, Harry Hadden-Paton, David Corenswet, Daryl McCormack, Tunde Adebimpe, Katy O’Brian, Nik Dodani, Kiernan Shipka, and Paul Scheer.
The feature is produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley. Isaac Chung directs from a script by Mark L. Smith, the writer of The Revenant, from a story by Joseph Kosinski. It’s executive produced by filmmaking legend Steven Spielberg, Thomas Hayslip, and Ashley Jay Sandberg.

Universal Pictures will be releasing the film nationwide on July 19. Warner Bros. Pictures will be distributing the film internationally.
