The upcoming feature reveals the previously untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, here known as Orion Pax and D-16. Before they were sworn, bitter enemies, they were once as close as brothers. In Transformers One, they start as miners who cannot transform. They later discover a secret that could potentially change the fate of Cybertron forever.

The upcoming feature is directed by Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4), with a script by Eric Pearson, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari, based on a script by Barrer and Ferrari. It’s produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem. It’s executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Bradley J. Fischer, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg. Of course, the film is based on Hasbro’s iconic action figure franchise, Transformers.
