Deadpool and Wolverine Gambit

It’s been a month since Deadpool & Wolverine hit the cinemas and fans have been enjoying every minute of it. From social reactions to in-depth analysis of the film and its characters, the film has become a major success. One of the characters fans were overjoyed to see in the film was Channing Tatum’s character, Gambit. The last time fans saw the character in a live-action adaptation was in X-Men: Wolverine, portrayed by Taylor Kitsch.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Gambit was one of the big surprise cameos along with Jennifer Garner’s Elektra, Wesley Snipes’ Blade, and Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm. While Johnny Storm’s cameo came to an end, Blade, Elektra, X-23, and Gambit teamed up with Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). After an epic battle between the heroes and Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) and her henchmen, audiences never get a glimpse of what happened to Blade, X-23, Gambit, and Elektra.

DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE DELETED SCENE HINTS AT THE FATE OF GAMBIT

It’s been a long time coming since Tatum first became interested in the character and spent years trying to get Fox’s Marvel to get a gambit movie off the ground. This didn’t happen until Disney bought the studio which ultimately gave Tatum the chance to make his dream come true on the big screen in Deadpool & Wolverine.

In an interview with Variety, Tatum admitted that he still wants to make a standalone Gambit film. “I’ve been saying I want it for the last 10 years. It’s in Bob Iger and Kevin Feige’s hands. I pray to God.”

After the film’s release, the actor took to social media to thank Reynolds for making his cameo happen. He expressed that he thought he had “lost Gambit forever” but Reynolds fought for him to be Gambit in the film. “I will owe him probably forever ’cause I’m not sure how I could ever do something that would be equal to what this has meant to me. I love ya, buddy.”

The deleted scene clearly shows that Gambit is alive and has escaped the Void. Even though audiences don’t know where he will be going, there is a likely chance that he will be seen again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether Tatum will make his appearance again, there has been no official word. All fans have for now is the exciting deleted scene.
