It is well-known that Bron Breakker comes from a WWE Hall of Fame family, the Stieners. His father Rick and uncle Scott enjoyed success at the college level before deciding to enter pro wrestling. However, despite having family in pro wrestling it looked like football may have been Breakker’s career for a little while.

Bron Breakker played college football for Kennesaw State University and was eventually signed by the Baltimore Ravens. During a recent interview with 99.5 WKDQ, Breakker discussed that despite his life pointing him in the direction of playing football, pro wrestling was his first love. He also revealed that he always had a pro-wrestling mindset and football was just the thing to help him get to pro wrestling.

“I was doing things at an unparalleled level to anyone else, in terms of how consistent my training was [for football]. I used to do just crazy things in my training. Anytime I got close to quitting or feeling sorry for myself, I’d be like, ‘If Triple H or WWE was watching right now, could you push through this rep?’ And I always would.” H/T to Wrestling Inc.

Breakker was released by the Ravens a few months after being signed. This gave him the opportunity to pursue his first love, pro wrestling. Just six months later he signed a developmental deal with WWE.

It didn’t take long before Breakker began to climb up the ranks in NXT. His talent was immediately apparent and it was obvious that WWE would be pushing him and sees a future in him.

Breakker became a two-time NXT champion before moving up to the main roster. On the main roster he showed he could still be a dangerous opponent and be a challenge for anyone. He eventually defeated Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship. This was seen as a stepping stone for the World Heavyweight Championship and proof WWE thinks he is ready for a big push.

A few weeks back Breakker lost the Intercontinental Championship to Jey Uso and freed him up for a new feud and perhaps a bigger championship. His intensity and strength means that no one is too big or imposing for the rising star. Not even GUNTHER or Cody Rhodes can be sure they will walk out as champion if Breakker challenges them.

Breakker has climbed up the ranks of WWE very quickly and along the way he obtained a WWE legend as a mentor of sorts. He revealed how his friendship with The Undertaker began with an encounter on NXT and what it’s like having him give him advice.

“We sat and we talked for a long time after that show. He just gave me a lot of great advice, and it started a bit of a relationship with him and I. Since then, every time I see him in the building or when he comes around, I always go up and we have conversation. Undertaker is the best. He’s great. It’s just an absolute honor for me to even be in that position with him, with such a legend. It was an incredible night.

“So that’s the night I’ll never forget. That’ll probably be some sort of poster or picture that’s on my wall for forever. Surreal moment between me and him. I just am so thankful I got to be a part of it. He’s awesome. Love that dude.” H/T Wrestling Inc.

Breakker is a wildcard in WWE because he can fit in any place on the card or title pursuit as he is a former NXT Tag Team champion. He can also have a good match with any level of opponent. It all depends on what WWE needs from him.
