The Life and Legacy of Sly Stone in SLY LIVES!

Premiering Thursday, February 13, 2025, SLY LIVES! (aka The Burden of Black Genius) is a deeply personal and powerful exploration of the life and legacy of Sly Stone and his groundbreaking band, Sly & The Family Stone. Directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson (Summer of Soul), this documentary doesn’t just celebrate the iconic band’s meteoric rise and cultural impact; it also unpacks the unseen burden of success for Black artists in America.

The documentary features candid interviews with luminaries like Andre 3000, D’Angelo, Chaka Khan, Q-Tip, Nile Rogers, and music legends Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, alongside close friends and family members.

“This film captures Sly’s genius, his influence on music, and the complexities of his journey in a way that has never been seen before,” says Questlove.

Laughs and Drama in Deli Boys

Mark your calendars for Thursday, March 6, 2025, as Deli Boys brings a fresh perspective to the comedy genre. Created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner (Girls), this 10-episode series follows two pampered Pakistani American brothers whose world is turned upside down after the sudden death of their father.

As they struggle to pick up the pieces, they uncover their father’s secret life of crime and are hilariously thrust into the underworld, navigating danger and dysfunction in equal measure.

The series stars Asif Ali (WandaVision), Saagar Shaikh (Ms. Marvel), Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever), Alfie Fuller (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), and Brian George (Seinfeld). Executive producer Michelle Nader serves as showrunner, with Nisha Ganatra (The High Note) directing the pilot.

“Deli Boys is an unexpected and laugh-out-loud journey into family dynamics and the duality of immigrant identities,” says showrunner Michelle Nader.

Professional Nerd | Amateur Human | Creative/Content Director The best way to describe Kevin Fenix is the kid you never tell what the buttons do in video games so you have a chance to win. Being 6’ 4” and Asian, he never really fit in, so he got comfortable standing out. Not only is it easy to find him in crowds, he dabbles in the culinary arts, does a little stand up and improv, and can honestly say Spider-Man is the Jesus-like influence of his life. Kevin Fenix loves dogs, movies, television, comics, comedy, and to shoot people… with video.
