Digimon fans finally receive news of a new video game as Bandai Namco reveals Digimon Story Time Stranger. The upcoming Digimon game brings forth a new adventure, featuring an intense new take on the real and digital worlds. With a variety of monsters and environments, a new trailer blasts fans with an amazing teaser for the game’s release in 2025. After a long wait, fans can now enjoy the excitement of diving into the world of Digimon with the latest upcoming title.
Digimon video games featured a range of titles across multiple platforms, including Digimon Survive, which was released in July 2022. The last game released from the franchise was a port of Digimon World: Next Order. The game was re-released in February 2023 for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, bringing the visually stunning 2016 Digimon World title to both platforms. The last Digimon Story title was also released as a port in October 2019, which featured Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory as the ‘Complete Edition’ for PC and Switch.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe today announced the development of Digimon Story Time Stranger, the brand-new entry in the Digimon Story game franchise, coming in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

In Digimon Story Time Stranger, players will be able to explore the bond between Digimon and humans in an epic story that spans through time across the human and Digital World unveiling the mystery behind the world’s collapse.
Along with its RPG and monster-taming elements where players will be able to tame, recruit, and train their Digimon, Digimon Story Time Stranger offers dynamic turn-based combat, including an incredible variety of Digimon. This, combined with deep customization and evolution options, provides limitless ways to approach battles, revealing the strength of the bonds between the players and their Digimon to unleash their full potential.
Digimon fans are ecstatic to finally have news of a new game after such a long wait after the last port. As Digimon Survive was the last new game released, it’s fantastic that a new title has now been revealed that will deliver a fresh experience to all fans and players. The mounts are a fantastic new addition teased in the trailer, but it’s also surprising to see new environments, including diving into the ocean with Whamon.
There is also a fantastic range of iconic Digimon, with the amazing fire-bird-accurate appearance of Birdramon really standing out to us. A lot of the ‘Adventure series’ Digimon were seen in the trailer, but it will be interesting to see what makes the roster for the new game. Hopefully, fans will have a lot more variety and see a lot of new faces in the upcoming game.
