Backed by a clear message—Amazon is all in on theaters—the presentation featured dazzling first looks, heartfelt speeches, and surprise appearances that had exhibitors buzzing.

Project Hail Mary Ignites the Stage

The clear crown jewel of the evening was Project Hail Mary, based on Andy Weir’s bestselling novel. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller joined star and producer Ryan Gosling to unveil work-in-progress footage, teasing a thrilling sci-fi odyssey about a lone teacher-turned-astronaut tasked with saving humanity. Gosling’s chemistry with a mysterious alien named Rocky hints at a film that will blend spectacle with emotional depth, in true Lord & Miller fashion.

“This movie has to be seen in theaters,” said Gosling, praising the immersive visuals and character-driven narrative. The team emphasized their commitment to theatrical experiences—even joking they couldn’t fit the movie on a TV.

Bold Originals and Modern Twists

The studio unveiled an eclectic slate, led by fresh takes on familiar properties. Michael B. Jordan shared a message from London where he’s filming a globe-trotting reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair. The stylish heist update promises sleek visuals and a modern edge.

Also unveiled was a sultry first teaser for Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s smash-hit novel. Featuring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, the adaptation aims to kick off summer 2026 with steamy suspense and big-screen intrigue.

Provocative Storytelling Anchors the Slate

Oscar-winner Julia Roberts headlines After the Hunt, a searing academic drama from Luca Guadagnino. Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri joined the director on stage, praising the film’s exploration of power, identity, and scandal. The trio teased the film’s emotional weight and timely resonance.

Set in a futuristic AI-run court, the extended trailer teased twists, explosive action, and a cheeky tone. Pratt even performed a humorous skit from the film’s “mercy chair” live on stage.

Animation, Action, and the Unexpected

X-Men 3 Halle Berry

Family-friendly fun got a boost with Three Bags Full, a detective mystery starring Hugh Jackman as a shepherd’s brother investigating a murder—with the help of sheep. Described as whimsical and heartfelt, it’s expected to delight audiences of all ages.

The star-studded crime thriller Crime 101, featuring Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Barry Keoghan, promises gritty action and LA noir stylings, while Goddess blends Afro-punk and Western influences in a revenge-fueled road trip led by Vivica A. Fox and Teyonah Parris.

The stage also lit up for Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, a stylized action tale of faith and fatherhood starring Mahershala Ali and set in Houston, adding another dynamic original to the slate.

Legendary IPs and Fan Favorites Return

Masters of the Universe

A thunderous reaction followed the reveal of Masters of the Universe, a live-action epic bringing He-Man and Eternia to the big screen in grand fashion. Director Travis Knight teased enormous sets, a faithful yet elevated tone, and fan-favorite characters including Skeletor and Evil-Lyn.
