The SDCC panel, held on Thursday, July 25, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM in Ballroom 20, offered fans an insider’s look into the making of the series, with the presence of executive producer and director Roland Emmerich and a star-studded cast including Iwan Rheon, Sara Martins, Moe Hashim, Jojo Macari, Dimitri Leonidas, and Gabriella Pession.
SDCC Panel Highlights
The panel kicked off with an exclusive featurette that took attendees behind the scenes of Those About to Die, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship and dedication that went into bringing the ancient Roman world to life. SDCC Activation: The Chariot Race
In addition to the panel, Peacock has brought the glory of ancient Rome to the Gaslamp District with the immersive activation Those About to Die: The Chariot Race. This unique experience allows fans to step inside a betting tavern, join one of the coveted factions from the series, and experience the thrill of a chariot race. Inspired by the iconic Circus Maximus, the activation invites guests to whip a pair of reins and power their team’s chariot to victory.

The activation will be open throughout SDCC, from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28, at 170 Sixth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101. Operating hours are as follows:
- Thursday: 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Sunday: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pre-registered guests have priority entry, but those who have not pre-registered can join the standby line for limited entrance availability.
