The Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 6, 2021, five years almost to the day that David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was released.
Ayer declined to direct the sequel in order to focus on the now gestating Gotham City Sirens, and James Gunn stepped in with his proven track record of helming band-of-misfits ensemble pieces. This cast list reads like a “Who’s Who in Hollywood”: Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and Jai Courtney (Boomerang) are all expected to reprise their roles, and will star along newcomers such as Storm Reid, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Taika Waititi, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, and of course, Idris Elba.

Filming is nearing completion, and after closing out both duties on the Birds of Prey promotional trail and the awards circuit, Margot Robbie has joined her costars in Panama. Pics and videos have been circulating around Twitter regarding her new look, but many have also been struck down by the copyrights gods. So, if this one suddenly disappears, then search for “Harley Quinn Red and Black” on twitter.
