The plot of The Batman is currently unknown, however, Reeves has been on record saying that he wants this Batman movie to be more of a noir driven story, showing more of the detective side of the Dark Knight. Reeves has also said he is taking heavy inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock, director of movies such as Shadow of a Doubt and Vertigo.
It’s also unclear how, or if, this movie will fit into the already existing DCEU, which already has had a Batman played by Ben Affleck. It has been stated that this film is intended to be a reboot to the Batman movie franchise however so far it seems like this movie is still being considered a part of the DCEU.

We will have to wait and see how they handle explaining the existence of a Batman played by both Affleck and Pattinson. It’s possible that The Flash slated for release on July 1st, 2022 could explore this dilemma considering The Flash is known for hopping across different timelines.
Alongside Pattinson is an all-star cast formed by Reeves which includes, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Commissioner James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano (Love & Mercy) as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, Andy Serkis (Black Panther) as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell (The Gentleman) as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, John Turturro (The Night Of) as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern) as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Gil Perez-Abraham, Charlie Carver, and Max Carver being cast in undisclosed roles.
The Batman won’t be out until June 25th, 2021, but while you wait, be sure to keep up with us here at The Illuminerdi for more superhero movie news.
