Adult Swim Returns to San Diego Comic-Con 2022 to Celebrate Hit Animated Series

The San Diego Comic-Con 2022 schedule is taking shape. Many networks, films, and shows will be returning to Comic-Con International this year, and that includes the Adult Swim block. Adult Swim recently revealed a series of panels that will be hitting this year's Comic-Con for fans to enjoy.

The San Diego Comic-Con 2022 schedule is taking shape. Many networks, films, and shows will be returning to Comic-Con International this year, and that includes the Adult Swim block. Adult Swim recently revealed a series of panels that will be hitting this year’s Comic-Con for fans to enjoy.

Some of Adult Swim’s most popular and prestigious animated series will be showcased at this year’s Comic-Con. The lineup includes the Emmy Award-winning Primal from esteemed creator Genndy Tartakovsky, Tuca & Bertie, and SMILING FRIENDS. The new panels will take fans behind the scenes for their favorite animated shows.

Additionally, fans in attendance will see their first look at a new Rick & Morty digital spinoff short series, The Vindicators, which will be featured in a special fan screening during the convention. Here’s the full lineup of Adult’s Comic-Con 2022 schedule:

  • SMILING FRIENDS Discussion and Q&AFriday, July 22, 12:00 – 12:45 PM PT (Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Indigo Ballroom)
    • SMILING FRIENDS creators Michael Cusak and Zach Hadel will appear at Comic-Con to reveal what’s next for Pim, Charlie, and the rest of the gang who wish to bring happiness to their bizarre, yet colorful, world.
  • Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal Season Two Discussion and Q&AFriday, July 22, 1:00 – 1:45 PM PT (Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Indigo Ballroom)
    • Legendary director and creator Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter’s Lab, Hotel Transylvania, Samurai Jack) will be live in attendance to showcase the upcoming second season of Primal. Art Director Scott Wills will join Tartakovsky as they perform a deep dive into the show’s second season.
  • Rick and Morty: The Vindicators Screening and Q&AFriday, July 22, 2:00 – 2:45 PM PT (Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Indigo Ballroom)
    • Executive producer Sarah Carbiener and producer/writer Nick Rutherford willer offer up a first look at the new Adult Swim digital short series, The Vindicators. The special fan screening depicts Supernova, Vance Maximus, Alan Rails, Crocubot, and Noob Noob fighting crime, averting genocides, and getting into various high jinks. This time, Rick and Morty are not along for the ride.
  • Tuca & Bertie Season Three Discussion and Q&ASaturday, July 23, 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM PT (Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, Indigo Ballroom)
    • Tuca & Bertie returns to Adult Swim later this summer. Creator and executive producer Lisa Hanawalt, series stars Tiffany Haddish (Tuca), Nicole Beyer (Gamby), and Sasheer Zamata (Kara) will be in attendance for the panel. They will share details for the third season for the animated comedy series and more. The show follows the bird girl besties (Tuca and Bertie).

Additionally, fans can win Adult Swim prize giveaways in limited supply via the HBO Max Drop Zones. These will serve as activations for HBO Max across San Diego Comic-Con. Seeing so many prestigious guests and great shows returning to Comic-Con International this year is encouraging. Also, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal definitely looks to be the hot ticket this year.
