The Mandalorian Season 3 Trailer!!!

It’s been roughly 3 years since the last season of The Mandalorian, the last time fans saw Mando and Grogu was last year in The Book of Boba Fett. Fans of the beloved Star Wars Disney+ series can expect to see the dynamic duo back on the small screen this upcoming March. What better to celebrate their joyous return than a brand-new trailer?

Before we get into the trailer, let’s have a quick recap of what has happened between The Mandalorian season 2 and what the bounty hunter will face in the upcoming new season. Fair Warning: The Book of Boba Fett Spoilers are ahead!

The Bounty Continues…

By the end of the second season, Din Djarin and Grogu have gone their separate ways. The emotional moment where Grogu leaves behind Din with Luke Skywalkers was what made many fans tear up. Nevertheless, even with the absence of the foundling, Din continues his bounty hunting and we get to see him in action during Chapter 5 of The Book of Boba Fett titled Return of the Mandalorian.

The opening scene of that episode shows the bounty hunter going after the Klatoonian Kaba Baiz. He takes out Biaz and wields the Darksaber, which if fans can remember, whoever is able to take hold of the saber, they are able to rule all of the Mandalorian clans. Even though Djarin was never interested in ruling anything, Bo-Katan, who was the former wielder of the saber, didn’t seem happy that Djarin was the one carrying it.

We have yet to see Bo-Katan since season 2 of The Mandalorian but there may be a possibility we might see her in the upcoming season.

Training with Master Skywalker

Grogu may be 50-years-old, but as his species grow at a slower rate than humans and his powers are growing by the second, Luke Skywalker is the one who trains the youngling. We are able to see how Grogu’s training is going during The Book of Boba Fett. Skywalker is patient with him and even though it does take a while for Grogu to understand the training, he still thinks back to his good old friend, Din Djarin.

Just like in the second season finale of The Mandalorian, Luke gives Grogu two options: Take Yoda’s lightsaber and remain on the path of the Jedi OR accept the Beskar chain mail that Mando sent to him, ultimately choosing to be with the bounty hunter.

As a child who’s only parental figure he has ever known is Din Djarin, Grogu chooses to accept the Beskar chain mail and leaves to be with the bounty hunter once again.

Reunited and it feels SO good!

The reunion between Grogu and Din Djarin is sweet, yet just like in the multiple journeys they have faced, danger and evil are afoot. Now that Grogu has some form of training, we get to see how he can control his powers. The once helpless child is no more.

In the season finale of The Book of Boba Fett, when Djarin is attacked by the Rancor, the large semi-sentient reptilian carnivore, Grogu steps in to protect his friend. He uses the Force to tame the creature into a calm-like state. Easily, the creature could’ve done much more damage and killed the bounty hunter.

Now that we have established what has happened since we last saw the dynamic duo, let’s take a look at season 3.

Grogu and Mando are BACK!

The Mandalorian Din and Grogu Baby Yoda

The official trailer of season 3 of The Mandalorian dropped during Monday Night Football. As we can see in the trailer, there are new stakes that will have to be faced and it seems like our little green friend’s powers have grown substantially since we last saw him. Mando is going to take the journey back to Mandalore and from what we see in the very beginning, he will be meeting (and possibly teaming up) with other Mandalorians.

It has also been noted that the journey seems like it’s going to be treacherous while we may see other Jedis coming into the series. There can be more flashbacks from the time Grogu was at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Either way, this upcoming season is going to be interesting. There’s so much to explore and we are close to getting the series. You can watch the full trailer down below. The series streams exclusively on Disney+ on March 1.
