There have been many delays, but the wait for Shazam: Fury of the Gods is almost up. With the film due out in March, Warner Bros. Pictures has finally released the official trailer for the film, with some brand-new footage.

SHAZAM AND THE FAMILY ARE BACK IN THE OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR SHAZAM: FURY OF THE GODS

The long wait for the follow-up to 2019’s hit is almost over and the Warner Bros is celebrating with this new trailer. Fury of the Gods has added some serious gravitas to its lineup with the additions of Helen Mirren (Red), Lucy Liu (Kill Bill), and Rachel Zegler (West Side Story). Shazam director David F. Sandberg has returned for the sequel along with screenwriter Henry Gayden.

In the new sequel, Billy Batson and his foster sibling now have to face the Daughters of Atlas. They are a group of ancient gods who have returned to Earth to find the magic that was stolen from them long ago. Now, Billy, aka the hero Shazam, and his friends have to fight a battle for their lives, their superpowers, and the fate of the world hanging in the balance.

The new trailer arrives when there’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding what remains of the DCEU, now that James Gunn and Peter Safran are heading up DC Studios. While Fury of the Gods is releasing in theaters in March, it begs the question if Zachary Levi and the rest of the cast will remain part of the DC Universe for future film installments.

SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS ARRIVES IN THEATERS LATER THIS MARCH

The new trailer looks pretty intense and action-packed. The Daughters of Atlas are not messing around, with massive creatures, such as a dragon, at their disposal. Billy/Shazam looks to be in way over his head, and his teammates look like they get their powers taken away and/or captured. It looks like Billy will have to once again rise to the occasion and become the hero he was meant to be.

Besides the new trailer release, Warner Bros. Pictures also delivered a new poster image featuring Shazam, the Daughters of Atlas, the family superhero teammates, and the Wizard Shazam from the film (Djimon Hounsou):
