Paul Heyman thinks former NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is the next big thing in women’s wrestling.
Heyman has a knack for picking talent and being able to see their potential. He did it with some of his ECW guys like RVD and The Dudley Boyz. However, he was also able to align himself with some huge Superstars in WWE like Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and currently the Tribal Chief himself Roman Reigns.
When Heyman sees potential in a young wrestler, he is right a lot more times than he is wrong. He currently has his eyes set on a NXT standout in Stratton.
Heyman told Fox News Digital that Stratton is someone to keep an eye on and some of the top women on the roster need to worry about her and keep an eye on her.
“Tiffany Stratton is someone that Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair and the main roster women better keep their eyes on because she’s another one who, if she continues on this path, is going to be a significant player in the future of this industry and leading the industry into the future,” Heyman said.
Making A Big Impact But Still New To The Industry
Stratton is very young in pro wrestling and has not been with NXT for very long. She first began her training in the WWE Performance Center in 2021. Earlier this year she had become the NXT Women’s champion after winning a tournament to fill the vacant championship after Indi Hartwell was forced to vacate it.
Stratton took over NXT with her championship reign. She did it with a little help here and there, but it still counts. However, she decided to take her talents up to the main roster and ran into The Man Becky Lynch. Her and Lynch went to war in a Extreme Rules match. Stratton came out on the losing side of the exchange, but proved that she is someone to take very seriously.
Heyman weighed in on what he thought of Stratton’s performance in her feud with Lynch.
“I thought Tiffany Stratton not only held her own in the ring with Becky Lynch, I thought in the promos that she did with Becky Lynch she more than held her own as well,” Heyman said. “That’s no easy task for someone that hasn’t been on the main roster for a long time, let alone for any time.
Tiffany held her own in a very tense situation with Becky Lynch and looked great doing it. And it wasn’t because Becky Lynch knew how to carry her through the segment. It was because Tiffany knew how to present herself, and she did it quite well – very impressive.”
Passing WWE’s Tests at NXT
Stratton proving herself against Lynch was a test of sorts by WWE. They wanted to see how main roster fans would react to Stratton, how she performed with someone much more experienced and if she was able to handle the pressure having a match with one of the top women on the roster would bring.
Stratton passed with flying colors. Her being able to handle WWE’s tests just may mean that a main roster call-up is around the corner.
What have you thought of Stratton’s time in NXT? Is she ready to be called up to the main roster? Do you think SmackDown or Raw is a better fit for her? What did you think of her match with Lynch? Did you see her potential in that match or does she have a lot of learning to do still? Do you think she is someone who can be a threat to Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair like Heyman thinks?
