Spider-Man 4: A Major Villain To Make Big Return In The New Sequel

The villain for Marvel Studios' 'Spider-Man 4' is being rumored to be Michael Keaton's Vulture, according to an online scooper.

Tom Holland’s Peter Parker’s first villain was Adrian Toomes/ The Vulture in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Toomes was not a fan of Tony Stark and was stealing a lot of tech to make a living when he was out of a job after the events of the Battle of New York in 2012. Spidey became his nemesis and fought against the web-slinger which led to the villain being defeated at the end of the film. It looks like the character might be making his comeback in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, he has reported that Michael Keaton is being lined up to return as the villain in the fourth Spider-Man film. The last time we saw the Toomes, he was behind bars where he met Mac Gargan (Michael Mando), a crook who had an altercation with Spider-Man and claimed that he would force The Vulture to reveal Spidey’s true identity.

The Vulture making his MCU return is a surprise for many fans since he was also featured in Morbius where he arrived in the “Spider-Verse” where Venom has called home. The post-credit scenes from Morbius were the result of re-shoots and it was originally planned to have Tom Holland’s character be brought into the same world where Venom and Morbius take place.

Now with the events that occurred in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony used it by revealing that Toomes was transported to that universe when Spider-Man’s villain variants were returned home but Toomes was stranded on the wrong planet. The Vulture was finally free with a new suit and decided to recruit Morbius to form a team.

Fans weren’t happy and even ridiculed this idea. Now that it seems like the Vulture will be making his return to the MCU, it looks like this idea has been scrapped.

A POSSIBLE SINISTER SIX APPEARANCE

In the comics, Mac Gargan (better known as MacDonald Gargan) became the Scorpion after a failed animal mutation experiment. The character eventually becomes part of the supervillain group the Sinister Six where he joins Doctor Octopus, Electro, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Vulture, and many more. At the time, many have speculated that the post-credit scene from Spider-Man: Homecoming was a tease of the supervillain group making an appearance in the MCU.

Since 2017, we have gotten Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) in Spider-Man: Far From Home and Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Lizard (Rhys Igans) and the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe). All these villains, at some point in time, became part of the Sinister Six. Even though the villains from No Way Home were grouped together, they weren’t openly part of the Sinister Six while the sixth member, Mysterio, was already dead.

Spider-Man: Homecoming Vulture

The villainous team has had multiple different members who have joined the group in the later comic storylines. Also, Sony will be producing the Kraven the Hunter film that stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular role, which is set for release on August 30, 2024. It will be interesting if the MCU will once again make a villainous group to fight off Spider-Man again, especially when Vulture will be returning in the fourth Spider-Man film.
