NIGHT SWIM FEATURETTE EXPLORES THE FILM’S TAKE ON POSSESSION
Adapted from the original 2014 short film by Rod Blackhurst and Bryce McGuire, the movie follows the journey of Ray Waller, portrayed by Wyatt Russell. Forced to step away from his professional baseball career due to a health condition, Walker and his family embrace a new lifestyle by relocating to a home complete with the perfect backyard pool.

In an unexpected turn, the secrets of this home’s past surface, propelling the Walker family into a deep abyss of nightmares and confronting them with the chilling unknown. McGuire has taken on writing and directing the project. He describes the experience as, “shooting the nightmare pool party of all time.”Â
Night Swim is set to receive the expertise of a legendary horror tag team, consisting of James Wan and Jason Blum. Wan, along with his production company Atomic Monsters, is the mastermind behind The Conjuring universe, including successful spin-offs The Nun and Annabelle.
Meanwhile, Jason Blum and his production company Blumhouse have set the industry standard for the past decade with iconic franchises such as Paranormal Activity, Happy Death Day, and The Purge. This collaboration isn’t the first for these powerhouse horror entities, as they previously joined forces to deliver M3gan and Insidious: The Red Door.
Beyond the seasoned producers, Night Swim assembles an interesting cast with talent that has been on the rise the past few years. Wyatt Russell, fresh from his success in TV series hits The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, takes on the lead role of Ray Walker.
Portraying Walker’s wife, Eve, is Kerry Condon, an Oscar nominee for her supporting role in The Banshees of Inisherin. The roles of the Walker children, Izzy and Elliot, are brought to life by Amelie Hoeferle, featured in 2023’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Gavin Warren, recognized from the TV series Fear the Walking Dead.
The latest featurette offers a captivating behind-the-scenes glimpse into the distinctive shooting style that Night Swim will bring to life. The cast and crew discuss the details of the film’s underwater cinematography, which will play a predominant role in the project.

Despite the seemingly straightforward setting of a small backyard pool, the logistics of capturing authentic underwater scenes presented numerous challenges.
