We’ve found another young Michael Jackson! Young Juliano Krue Valdi has been cast to play the young version of The King of Pop and everyone behind this decision did an excellent job with casting.
Lionsgate along with Universal Pictures International found their young MJ in 9-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi. One can even say he manifested this role with the various times he impersonated Michael Jackson in the past.
Both Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International have marked the worldwide release of the movie on April 18th, 2025. As we’ve found our current Michael Jackson, played by his nephew Jaafar Jackson, as well as our young MJ played by Juliano Krue Valdi, principal photography will begin next week.

Valdi’s role would be focused on him being a part of The Jackson 5 and their rise to fame. “When Michael was very young – eleven years old – he astounded the world, possessing the spirit and talent of an adult. He was truly an old soul. He and Juliano have that in common,” said Graham King. “Beyond being a phenomenal young talent, Juliano is deeply inspired by Michael and his music, and has managed to translate that inspiration into a presence and performance that captures the true magic of young Michael Jackson.”

I think they both made the right choice. This kid was born to play young Michael Jackson. He has the heart and soul of the late singer. He’s very much a mini MJ.

Valdi even spoke about what this role meant to him, saying “This opportunity is really important to me because Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, and he is very special in my heart. I’ve been dancing to his songs for five years now. He makes me feel really special and makes me feel good about myself. I love the energy of Michael Jackson.”
Besides having the talent of MJ, Valdi is also a child actor himself. He appeared on commercials, a Nickelodeon TV show, and he even has his own YouTube channel. I can see him rising in fame after this movie is released.
