Another Liane Moriarty novel is getting a small-screen adaptation, as Peacock’s Apples Never Fall has been set for a March 14 release. The streamer announced this much with our first teaser trailer for the series, which hails from showrunner Melanie Marnich.

All seven episodes will be available at launch, Peacock announced. While the new teaser doesn’t provide a lot of information about the series, it does set the tone for what to expect. But of course, knowing this is a new adaptation of a novel by the writer of Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers already gives us an idea of what’s in store for us. (Surprisingly, not Nicole Kidman this time around.)
Melanie Marnich is the showrunner this time, and the distributor is not HBO or Prime Video, but Peacock, which seems like an odd choice for something like this — but something that could pay off for them, especially as they try to entice more people into staying on the service after their recent (and seemingly successful) venture into live sports. At the same time, with less than two months to go before the series comes out in full, a teaser longer than 30 seconds was probably to be expected. They will surely follow it up with a two-minute trailer in a few weeks.
For now, the prospects of the cast and the idea of a new Moriarty adaptation seem intriguing enough. Marnich is a TV veteran too, who’s worked on shows like The Affair or last year’s Murder at the End of the World.
