I Saw The TV Glow Features Terror From the Television Set

Owen and Maddy are two kids who spend endless nights in the suburbs watching their favorite TV show, “The Pink Opaque.” Years later, Maddy disappears, leaving nothing but a flaming television set. Owen is left with a disillusioned view of reality, not sure if his favorite show is fiction after all.

This trailer showcases mindblowing visuals, and we see Owen’s descent into madness as he struggles with the midwestern ennui of growing up in front of the TV set. We also got a reveal of all the musicians that are featured in this film, including Alex G, Snail Mail, Sloppy Jane, Phoebe Bridgers, and much more.

Jane Schoenbrun’s first film, “We’re All Going to the World’s Fair,” showed us the horror of existing online and losing yourself within small communities. Their newest film is positioned as a more tangible fear of living in small areas and losing yourself in worlds of fiction. Schoenbrun taps into this unconscious fear of the younger generations more than any other director working today, and with the anticipation of their highest-budget project yet, Schoenbrun is carving out a unique spot for themself in the new wave of modern horror.
