TRACKER: Top Rated Series Receives Quick Renewal from CBS

CBS Entertainment announced today that the top-rated new drama, Tracker, has been quickly renewed for a second season. The news comes off the show’s recent broadcast TV debut, where the show quickly became the most-watched new drama in nine years.

CBS renews the series, which stars Justin Hartley of This Is Us and Smallville fame, for an upcoming 2024-2025 television series. The show is currently the No. 1 series on TV, per Nielsen’s Most Current Data. The show had its TV debut on Feb. 11 after the Super Bowl, and it’s been viewed by 30 million multiplatform viewers. It’s also the #1 show on Paramount+ for February.

HIT SERIES TRACKER GETS QUICK RENEWAL FROM CBS

The series is being touted as the most-watched new drama in nine years. It’s also the most-watched new series since Young Sheldon debuted in 2017-2018. Additionally, CBS revealed via press release that the show improved its regular Sunday, 9:00 pm timeslot by +83% year over year.

Speaking on the news CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbbach stated via a press release, “TRACKER kicked off our premiere week with a ratings bang and has kept the momentum going.” She continued, “We knew we had something special when we saw the very first cut of the series and the overwhelming audience response confirms it. We couldn’t be more grateful to Justin, the talented cast, the incredible writing and producing teams, and our partners at 20th Television for such compelling episodes. And, of course, we’re also so thankful to the millions of viewers tuning in each week.”

Hartley stars in the series as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker. He uses his sharpened tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve various mysteries and missing persons cases. Meanwhile, he’s also dealing with his own fractured family.

The show is based on the bestselling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver. The show is executive-produced by Hartley, Ken Olin, Elwood Reid, and Ben Winters.

Tracker is currently airing on the CBS Television Network. The first four episodes are available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after it airs).
