Peacock has just announced an exciting new series with some all-star talent behind it. The new dramedy series, The Miniature Wife, has just been given a straight-to-series order by the streamer.

The romantic dramedy will star Emmy Award-nominated actress Elizabeth Banks and Emmy Award-winning actor Matthew McFayden (Succession). They also serve as executive producers for the upcoming show
THE MINIATURE WIFE GETS A STRAIGHT-TO-SERIES ORDER AT PEACOCK
The upcoming series is based on a short story written by Manuel Gonzalez. Described as a high-concept marital dramedy, the show will examine the power (im)balances between spouses, with wife Lindy (Elizabeth Banks) and Les (Matthew Macfayden), who battle each other for supremacy after a technological accident induces the ultimate relationship crisis.
Elizabeth Banks of the Spider-Man franchise, The Hunger Games, and Pitch Perfect executive produce the show with Macfayden, who will star opposite Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in this summer’s Deadpool & Wolverine. The show is created and executive-produced by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire, Goliath), who also serve as the showrunners.
The new project is being produced by Media Res (The Morning Show, Pachinko), with Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer executive producing the project for the studio.
The new series sounds like a fascinating concept and could be an amusing series. The involvement of Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfayden creates a great deal of excitement as well. It should be interesting to see what they can create onscreen together.

The show landing a straight-to-series order also signifies that NBCUniversal has a lot of faith and high expectations in the project. The series will stream exclusively on Peacock. It does not yet have an official release date.
