Black Butler is back with its new season, the Public School Arc. Get Ready Black Butler fans as our favourite dark fantasy anime is back! Crunchyroll released the first episode with English subtitles earlier this month, and the first two episodes are available now to watch here on Crunchyroll, with the third episode to be scheduled to air on Sat April 27.

NEW SEASON OF BLACK BUTLER HITS CRUNCHYROLL
To add to the exciting addition of the new season, on Friday, April 12, Crunchyroll has also added the three previous seasons: Black Butler, Black Butler II, and Black Butler: Book of Circus, for its fandom in the following dubs; Japanese, English, Latin American and Portuguese (Brazil).
The anime returns with its voice actor main cast with Daisuke Ono voicing the role of our favorite demon Sabastion and Maaya Sakamoto voicing our MC Ciel Phantomhive. English Dub cast is still TBA, but there is big hopes J. Michael Tatum will be returning to voice Ceil in the upcoming dubbed episodes.
The new season is directed by Kenjrou Okada who is known for directing other series such as From the New World and Magia Record: Puella magi madoka magica side story and written by Hiroyuki Yoshino, who has also worked on two previous seasons of Black Butler; Black Butler season 1 and Black Butler: Book of Circus.
Production of the series has been covered by Cloverworks, who have also produced some of our favorite anime series such as Chainsaw Man, Spy X Family, and My Dress up Darling. Cloverworks is also the production company that produced the previous seasons of Black Butler, during that time Cloverworks was just a studio within A-1 Pictures.
As the series moves into its new chapter Black Butler: Public School arc the fans will get to meet some new arrival characters, the students of “Weston College”. Hopefully, we will get to see our Ciel make some new lasting friends this season, however, will he have time when the investigation is on and there is work to be done?
Under the instruction of Queen Victoria, Ciel, and Sabastian work together to uncover the mysterious disappearance of several students who attend “Weston College”. Will we see the truth be revealed and will the students who have disappeared be found in the end? Or will this be a story with an unhappy ending? It’s not uncommon for Black Butler to take a dark turn.
Public School Arc (Season 4) will consist of 11 episodes. The new series was announced to be in production with a statement made by Crunchyroll at the Aniplex festival in 2023, stating that the new series for Black Butler was already in production and would be released in April 2024.
The announcement came as a big surprise to fans as it has been 10 years since its last series Black Butler: Book of Circus, aired between Jul 11, 2014 – Sep 12, 2014, And 7 years since its last OVA: Black Butler: Book of Murder. The series will be an adaptation of the original manga.
The franchise has been expanding its continuous success since the release of its manga story written by Yana Toboso back on Sep 16, 2006, in Square Enix Shonen Magazine. Square Enix then made the chapters into individual tankobon volumes, releasing the first volume of the manga on Feb 27, 2007.
With its popularity, the manga was then also published in English by Yen Press on Jan 26, 2010. Since the original release, the manga has since sold over 32 million copies worldwide. The ongoing manga so far consists of 33 volumes, as the manga continues fans are hopeful that the anime will also continue. Does this mean that Season 4 may not be the last time we see our favorite dark duo on screen?
