THE SIMPSONS RECEIVING NEW MOTHER’S DAY SHORT NEXT WEEK

“May the 12th Be With You” celebrates Mother’s Day in style for the long-running, popular animated series. It’s the latest in a collection of new shorts for the series created exclusively for Disney+. Previous Simpsons short for the streamer include “Maggie Simpson in ‘Rogue Not Quite One’” (2024 Webby Winner), “The Simpsons Meet the Bocellis in ‘Feliz Navidad,’” “Welcome to the Club,” “When Billie Met Lisa” (Emmy® nominated), “Maggie Simpson in ‘The Force Awakens from Its Nap’” (Emmy® nominated), “The Good, The Bart, and The Loki” and “The Simpsons in Plusaversary.”

The Simpsons has amassed quite the run in its 30+-year history. The show has run over 765 episodes and 35 seasons, plus one theatrical movie. Disney and 20th Television previously announced that the show was renewed for two additional broadcast seasons in 2023. That will keep the show on through 2025 with 36 seasons and well over 800 episodes, which is a pretty staggering run when you think about all the shows that come and gone during that time frame. The show is still on the air producing new episodes.
