After a long production, which included a creative overhaul halfway through, the new series Dune: Prophecy is finally coming out this fall. Max announced as much on Tuesday during Warner Bros. Discovery’s Upfronts presentation, where they also dropped the first trailer.

The series is set 10,000 years before the Denis Villeneuve movies and will explore the roots of the Bene Gesserit — but before they received that name. From the trailer, it looks as if the events depicted in the series will be the first real test of the power of this organization and will show how they started to mess around with galactic politics.
They think in centuries, as we’ve learned from the theatrical outings, and we also know that they’ve been crossing bloodlines and infiltrating the great Houses for millennia, so everything seems to line up.

In related news, after crossing $700M at the global box office, Dune: Part Two is coming to Max on May 21, the streamer also announced this week.
