This marks the first time ever that the arcade beat ’em up of The Punisher will be available on PC and Modern consoles in the U.S. The game was only ever released on the SEGA Genesis console about 30 years ago. The seven-game collection will go on sale later this year for an MSRP of $49.99. Capcom also confirmed the following new and enhanced features for the upcoming release:

That looks to be a nice amount of new features, plus the first-ever modern console release of the 1993 The Punisher video game. All these games are certified classics, so it’s awesome to see they will be all together in one place.

Some other classic Marvel arcade beat ’em ups that could also utilize updated releases are Spider-Man: The Video Game from SEGA, Captain America and the Avengers from DATA EAST, and the 1992 X-Men arcade game from Konami. Getting all those together in one collection might be a bit more difficult due to their different publishers and developers, but there’s always hope. A Marvel arcade beat ’em up collection would be awesome as well.

Nevertheless, it’s great that Capcom is releasing this arcade collection on consoles and PC, and it will also be available in both physical and digital editions. Interestingly enough, Arcade1Up put together an X-Men ’97 arcade cabinet compilation that features some of the games, but it also has some 16-bit console releases mixed in as well, such as Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems and X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse.
