It truly has been a long wait since the announcement came that there would be a second season in production.

The announcement came not long after the first season wrapped up back in 2021, but now the wait is nearly over, as season 2 will premiere this October. A teaser trailer alongside new visual and cast have also been revealed, ahead of the anime’s season 2 premiere. The confirmed cast for Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles season 2 is as follows:

- Celia Claire voiced by Akane Fujita (Voiced Leviathan in Seven Mortal Sins)
- Aishia voiced by Yuki Kawahara (Voiced Yue in Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest)
- Latifa voiced by Tomori Kusunoki (Voiced Makima in Chainsaw Man)
- Miharu Ayase voiced by Sayaka Harada (Voiced Mitsuru Hanamiya in Tomodachi Game)
- Aki Sendo voiced by Marika Kono (Voiced Nemu Emmot in Overlord)
- Masato Sendo voiced by Aguri Onishi (Voiced Fubuki Kitakaze in Maesetsu! Opening Act)
- Flora Beltrum voiced by Kaede Hondo (Voiced Hakari Hanazono in The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You)
- Liselotte Cretia voiced by Nao Toyama (Voiced Ruka Sarashina in Rent-A-Girlfriend)
- Sakata Hiroaki voiced by Hiroyuki Yoshino (Voiced Franky Franklin in Spy X Family)

The manga for the anime was created by author Yuri Kitayama and illustrator Riv, it started as a light novel that was serialized online between Feb 2014 and Oct 2020, on the user-generated novel publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro. In Oct 2015 the novel was then acquired by Hobby Japan, which then started printing the novel under their HJ Bunko imprint.
A manga adaption of the light novel was then released from Oct 2016 to Feb 2017 with art by Tenkla. The manga was serialized online at Hobby Japan’s Comic Fire website; however, the manga was discontinued due to the artist’s health conditions. A second manga for the series was then created with art by Futago Minaduki, and published on the same online website as the first manga adaption in Jul 2017. TMS Entertainment has brought out many anime adaptions that have been a success, producing such titles as; Baki, Fruits Basket, Lupin III, Kamisama Kiss, and many more. With such a track record we have high hopes for season 2 of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles, with the popularity of season 1 I’m sure the studio can pull this one out of the bag.
