The series will debut its first two episodes exclusively on Disney+ later this year. You can check out the newly revealed teaser trailer below:
KATHRYN HAHN RETURNS AS AGATHA HARKNESS IN AGATHA ALL ALONG TEASER TRAILER
The new trailer features the return of the villainous witch, Agatha Harkness, who debuted in the acclaimed Marvel Studios miniseries, WandaVision. Harkness sets off on a dangerous, mysterious adventure in the new series filled with trials and tribulations.
The series begins with Harkness down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that if survived rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and the mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven and set off down, down, down The Witches Road!
It definitely appears like the show’s premise is going for a twisted version of The Wizard of Oz. Also, Aubrey Plaza appears to be portraying a character named Rio Vidal, someone who has ties to Agatha Harkness. Jack Schaeffer serves as the showrunner for the new show. Schaeffer was one of the creative forces behind WandaVision and also directs the pilot episode of Agatha All Along.
Joining the cast opposite Hahn are Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza. One could assume that Debra Jo Rupp is reprising her role from WandaVision.
Schaeffer is also executive producing the show, along with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Mary Livanos. Episodic directors include Schaeffer, Rachel Goldberg, and Gandja Montiero.
