There is still a lot of mystery around the upcoming WandaVision spin-off and besides a handful of characters, there is not a lot known about what the series is going to be about other than most likely a group of witches, the Darkhold, and a teenager version of Billy Maximoff.

Speaking of the newest rumor surrounding the show tries to explain how Billy returned after Wanda Maximoff stopped the hex, making Vision and their two sons disappear at the end of WandaVision.

It is an open secret that Heartstopper star Joe Locke will take over the role of Billy Kaplan also known as Wiccan, who was previously played by Julian Hilliard in WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But what Agatha: Darkhold Diaries must explain is how he comes back.

WICCAN’S RETURN TO THE LIVING IN AGATHA: DARKHOLD DIARIES?

Wiccan-Marvel-comics

According to CanWeGetSomeToast on X:

“But in #AgathaDarkholdDiaries, Billy’s soul unknowingly (on Wiccan survival instincts) enters a body as the body’s soul exists. He’s amnesiac afterward and doesn’t know who or what he is. After hearing about the “Westview Incident”, Billy seeks out Agatha for some help…”

The post comes after fans started to worry about the comparison between Billy’s resurrection and Steve Trevor’s (Chris Pine) resurrection in Wonder Woman 1984, where Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) wishes for Trevor to come back, and he possesses the body of a living human without his consent.

Referring to mumblings that Joe Locke’s Billy/Wiccan (an openly gay character in the comics) is only gay because he possesses the dead body of a gay teenager, CanWeGetSomeToast clarified:

“It’s not explicitly stated that WILLIAM is LGBTQ+. It’s clear that BILLY is the one who’s in love with his boyfriend, Eddie. It’s not so much a reincarnation, but more like a naked hermit crab finding an empty shell to live in. Honestly, it’s not like WW84 in the slightest.”

Just like in the comics the reincarnation of Billy Kaplan doesn’t seem to be too easy to explain and it remains to be seen how exactly Marvel Studios will explain it in the show itself. Just from the description above it doesn’t seem too easy to do. We have to wait and see how exactly it will look in the show itself.
