MAGIC: THE GATHERING Reveals Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons Drops to Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast are celebrating the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons in Magic: The Gathering with the Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons drops! These drops include a series of five limited edition drops celebrating 50 years of the iconic fantasy tabletop role-playing game, played by more than 64 million fans worldwide.

The Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons 50th Anniversary Superdrop will officially go on sale starting on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, while supplies last. The limited drops represent five decades of the tabletop game, featuring legendary characters, such as the vampire rogue Astarion, the battle-hardened Karlach, and the ever-watchful Beholder.

Here’s the full breakdown of the limited edition Secret Lair x Dungeons and Dragons drops for The Gathering:

  • Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons®: An Exhibition of Adventure 
  • Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons®: Astarion’s Thirst 
  • Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons®: Karlach’s Rage 
  • Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons®: Death is in the Eyes of the Beholder I 
  • Secret Lair x Dungeons & Dragons®: Death is in the Eyes of the Beholder II

Speaking on this week’s announcement, Magic: The Gathering Vice President of Collectibles Mark Heggen commented, “This is a special year for Dungeons & Dragons fans, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 50 years of such an amazing game than by bringing our two games together.” He continued, “Each of these Secret Lair drops represent the legacy and impact of Dungeons & Dragons and it’s thrilling that Magic: The Gathering fans can be part of this celebration.”

Wizards of the Coast VP of Franchise and Product for D&D Jess Lanzillo stated via a press release, “It’s always incredible to see iconic D&D art, monsters, and characters come to life on Magic cards! These Secret Lair cards capture the essence of D&D, giving fans of both games something truly special to add to their collections.” Lanzillo added, “Whether you’re a D&D fan, a Magic enthusiast, or both, these drops offer a unique way to celebrate and connect with these games that have brought fans so much joy and community for decades.”

Each of the drops will be priced at $29.99. Also, a Foil Edition of each drop will be available at $39.99. The drops will be available on MagicSecretLair.com and D&D Beyond Marketplace later this month. Fans can also sign up for more info and to be notified about upcoming Secret Lair drops at the game’s official website.
