Wrestling is full of surprises and heartbreak. One example of this is Bray Wyatt. A beloved WWE Superstar gets released from WWE and eventually comes back to the promotion. He has a new character and plans for a new faction he is teasing. The leader of the faction is a character named Uncle Howdy who would be played by his brother, Bo Dallas.

The storyline was postponed and delayed over-and-over because of health issues with Bray Wyatt. The world didn’t know the severity of the health issue until Wyatt died. Since then Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy has continued his brother’s plans for the storyline.

On a recent episode of HEADLOCK, Bo Dallas talked about how exciting it was to work together with his brother for the Wyatt Sicks storyline. Also the sadness of not being able to continue it with his brother.

“Me and my brother, we had a bunch of plans and we were finally getting the opportunity to work together for the first time in our careers, and we both waited our entire careers to get that chance. We were talking every day, throwing ideas and had endless storylines and stuff to be worked on. We were just like little kids playing together again with all these ideas, and whenever he passed I thought I was never gonna get the chance to make that happen.”

In late August 2023 Wyatt was taking a nap and died from a heart condition. After having COVID, Wyatt’s existing heart condition worsened and it led to his death. The heart condition is what postponed his storyline.

This led WWE and Dallas to make some tough choices as to what to do with the storyline and work Wyatt had been working so hard on. WWE and Dallas decided to continue the storyline and honor Wyatt by continuing his vision.

After months of teasing something very strange, it became more and more apparent that it was teasing the return of Uncle Howdy and the Wyatt Sicks. In June 2024 Nikki Cross made the first appearance of the Wyatt Sicks when her Abby the Witch character crawled towards the camera.

Since then the Wyatt Sicks have enacted a targeted reign of terror on the WWE roster. It began with them murdering Chad Gable which he somehow survived and most recently a kidnapping of The Miz. Dallas revealed that much of what is happening with the Wyatt Sicks are ideas Wyatt had planned before his death.

Dallas revealed that because of Wyatt’s death his role in the storyline changed drastically. He is now playing both Uncle Howdy and himself. He admitted that he always liked the creepy and scary stuff his brother was doing, but he was never given the opportunity to do it himself. However, now he is and it is a way to carry a little piece of his brother with him.

When the Wyatt Sicks debuted it created a lot of buzz and Dallas revealed that the feedback was indescribable. He also revealed that the way the fans see him is so much different now than when he wrestled as Bo Dallas.

“The feedback from everybody in the WWE Universe I can’t even describe. I’ve wrestled for 16 years now and I’ve been through a lot, but the reactions and the way people have come to me and treated me with The Wyatt Sicks and how they’ve taken it is just on a whole ‘nother level. The communication with a fan or someone from the WWE Universe in the airport is different than it ever was.”

Dallas says one of the big reasons everything feels different is because of connection. To him the Wyatt Sicks storyline involves the fans as much as it involves the wrestlers and the fans are a part of it.

Dallas admits that he felt a lot of pressure to honor his brother when he debuted as Uncle Howdy for the first time after his brother’s death. However, now when his music hits he feels like his brother is with him and he feels strength to go out there and perform.

What have you thought of the Wyatt Sicks? What about Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy? Has the way you see Dallas changed since Wyatt’s death? Do you think Dallas can be or should be a world champion?
