Paddington In Peru will unexpectedly tell a fresh tale about Paddington being in Peru. Sarcasm aside, the film sees the huggable little bear returning to Peru to pay his lovely Aunt Lucy a visit at the Home for Retired Bears of course. The Brown family joins Paddington on his trip only for everything to get out of hand when mysterious circumstances derail them into the Amazon rainforest as well as the mountain peaks of Peru for one insane yet awesome adventure.

Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton are reprising their roles as Paddington and Aunt Lucy respectively, with Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, and Olivia Colman making up the cast of human characters. Rachel Ziegler was initially set to join them but was unable to do so due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.

“It’s been a joy and an honour to shoot ‘Paddington in Peru’ with such a wonderful and talented cast and crew. I feel incredibly lucky to have been blessed with such a lovely group of people, many of whom have returned to the world of this beloved bear. We are also delighted to have welcomed Emily, Olivia, Antonio and Carla to the Paddington family.”

Paddington’s Legacy

There is a plethora of characters we cherish from our youth, a lot of them have more or less faded into obscurity or ended up in the public domain only to be twisted into something utterly horrific. Then there are massive IPs with the likes of Marvel, DC, TMNT, and Star Wars which dominate the entertainment zeitgeist and make it hard for family brands to get their time to shine. Luckily, our little buddy stands tall refusing to let anyone forget about him.

Paddington is a hit, kids aren’t even the only ones who love him and enjoy the shenanigans he gets into. There’s a special innate wonder attached to Paddington, complimented by humor, adventure, and captivating storytelling. Yes, art can imitate life but sometimes we could use a break from reality and embrace a simple innocent fantasy to see things from a child’s point of view.
