Jonathan Entwistle and Jenny Klein’s Power Rangers series is no longer moving forward on Netflix.

According to TVLine, the series that has been in development for over two years has shut down at Netflix. Hasbro Entertainment will be redeveloping the series with a new partner.

Jonathan Entwistle, the co-creator of Netflix’s I Am Not Okay With This and The End Of The F***ing World for the streamer, in October 2020 was tapped to oversee the development of both television and film productions in a new Power Rangers shared universe.

In June 2022, Jenny Klein, best known for Daisy and The Six and NBC’s The Thing About Pam was tapped to be the showrunner.

The Scoop Confirmed

A few days ago, a prominent Power Rangers scooper known as Jinsakuu revealed the news on X about Hasbro licensing Toys and Media to other companies, adding that the aforementioned reboot is no longer happening, but there should still be a reboot nonetheless.

Though this news may seem disappointing, I don’t believe the future of Power Rangers is in Jeopardy. Hasbro Entertainment has over two dozen projects in development. President Olivier Dumont confirmed this at the TV Kids Summer Festival so there’s something in the works for Power Rangers. We hope to hear more about this in the near future.
